Although often served as an appetiser, nachos can make for a great dinner too. Be it for a football game, a family gathering or a quick and easy meal. Since nachos are a very flexible when it comes to ingredients, you can change a lot of the recipe. You can add any kind of cheesy goodness you like, any kind of sauce and adjust the recipe to however you like it!

Different variations

This is a recipe you can use to get rid of a bunch of leftovers. First of all, you can use any type of minced meat you prefer. I used pork for my recipe, but it is just as delicious with ground beef, turkey or chicken. For some other delicious variations here is a list with possible additions:

  • Olives:
    • Enhance your nacho experience with the briny goodness of sliced black or green olives. Their savory flavor adds a delightful contrast to the richness of the meat and cheese.
  • Shredded Lettuce:
    • Crisp and fresh shredded lettuce brings a cool crunch to each bite. It not only adds a textural element but also introduces a hint of refreshing greenery to balance the savory and spicy components.
  • Cilantro:
    • Elevate the flavor profile with the vibrant freshness of cilantro. Chopped cilantro adds a citrusy, herbaceous note that complements the hearty meat and cheesy goodness of the nachos.
  • Green Onions:
    • Slice up some green onions to impart a mild onion flavor and a touch of mild heat. The vibrant green color adds visual appeal while contributing a subtle oniony kick.
  • Jalapeno Slices:
    • If you love a bit of heat, jalapeno slices are the perfect choice. These spicy peppers add a kick that enhances the overall flavor, making every bite a spicy and savory delight.
  • Queso Fresco:
    • Crumble some queso fresco over your nachos for a creamy, tangy contrast. This Mexican cheese adds a luscious texture and a distinct flavor that complements the other ingredients.
  • Hot Sauce:
    • For those who crave an extra layer of heat, drizzle your favorite hot sauce over the nachos. Whether it’s a smoky chipotle or a fiery habanero, hot sauce allows you to tailor the spice level to your liking.
